Steering your Arts Leader Ship in the New World Order

  • Saturday, November 11, 2017 - 11:00am to 12:15pm
    | NAMPC

We thought we had this whole arts management thing figured out, didn’t we? Through two decades of remarkable societal change, organizations have adapted to new audiences, new technologies, and new artistic demands. But today’s America seems so different than just one year ago. Threats are everywhere—in our structures, our consumers, the fabric of society itself. So what’s a leader to do? How do we stay true to our mission and stakeholders while facing challenges both known and unknown? And what can we teach each other? Get down to business—analyzing, making plans, setting goals, in this interactive workshop. Let’s help each other find a route that carries the arts through this new America.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify warning signs that point to internal and external threats.

  2. Learn how to approach change and gain support from staff and stakeholders in difficult times.

  3. Discover how to adjust your leadership style to produce desired outcomes.
